DMG MORI announced Adaptive Drilling Control on January 26, 2026. The public description helps identify its intended functions and initial availability. It does not replace the programming reference for the reader’s machine, control version and selected tool.

What the manufacturer announced

The German release describes standard drilling, deep-hole drilling and an Advanced gunDrill mode. It says pressure, flow and load signals support feedback regulation of coolant supply and drilling strategy, with additional Advanced options for cross holes, pilot offset and adaptive feed adjustment.

The release names initial availability on monoBLOCK, duoBLOCK, DMC H monoBLOCK, DMC 55 H TWIN and portal/gantry machines, with Siemens and HEIDENHAIN controls. It also states that process data are recorded for monitoring and factory-IT integration. These are attributed product announcements. The published percentage improvements are not adopted here as independently verified expectations for another job.

The remaining programming questions

For an installed application, obtain the applicable cycle version, enabled mode, argument meanings, coordinate references, coolant hardware and selected tool procedure. Resolve entry, cross-hole treatment, final-depth behaviour and withdrawal in that documentation. The announcement provides no complete executable command listing for all configurations.

Earlier generic ADC-style blocks on this page were removed because the public references did not establish their syntax or M-code meaning. Retaining a plausible-looking block would hide the missing machine-specific evidence.

Recording is another handover to verify

The stated recording function needs an actual export review before it can be used as a per-bore process history. Identify available channels, units, timestamps, bore identifiers and gaps. Keep the inspection result connected to the same event. The presence of a recording feature does not supply a dimensional acceptance result.

The feedback diagram below separates observation, response and independent evaluation. Use the RFQ worksheet to describe the installed configuration and unresolved application requirements. Continue to data acquisition for the record structure, or cycle selection for the separate controller, builder and tool references.
