Scope
Deep Hole Drilling covers the machining, finishing and inspection of deep bores in manufactured parts. Geological well drilling is a separate field; related energy coverage concerns equipment-component manufacturing unless clearly identified otherwise.
Evidence and article types
Technical guides explain methods and application checks. Editorial decision guides organize evidence requests and comparison questions; their checklists are editorial assessments, not reported trials. Research evidence reviews identify what could be inspected and leave conclusions open when the necessary publication could not be accessed. Product analyses attribute capabilities and performance statements to the manufacturer. Research analyses identify the original study and its experimental limits. Calculation examples label assumptions and should not be read as measured benchmarks or quotations.
Revised articles include important source links and explain material corrections. Public standard summaries support scope and bibliographic information; specific clauses require the applicable controlled standard text. Tool data and machine instructions must match the actual application.
English research keywords are paired with actual German searches. Source access limits and unsuccessful searches are recorded during editorial work. Factual statements require inspectable materials; model training knowledge is not treated as evidence.
Revision status
The October 7, 2026 library review covers all 216 technical articles and the topic navigation. Unsupported numerical claims were removed or confined to inspected source conditions; articles without sufficient application evidence were reframed as review questions. This content review does not constitute independent machining tests, access to every full paper or certification of a production process. An update date alone does not establish those forms of validation. We do not present a supplier claim as an independently measured result, or a research prototype as a commercially qualified product without evidence.
Report a correction
Send the page URL, the disputed statement and supporting source or application details to [email protected]. Material factual corrections should identify what changed; changing a date alone is not a technical correction.
Publication dates and source dates
An article publication date is the date of our coverage; a revision date is the date of its content update. Neither is automatically the publication date of a cited study or product announcement. Research & Industry is a curated collection of source-checked briefs and the technical library. It does not claim to be a live or comprehensive news service.
Editorial selection and contributions
Homepage and sidebar reading selections use the same editorial list. Topic routes group existing articles by the reader’s task. Placement in those lists does not certify a method, product or supplier.
Contributed material should identify the author, source documents and commercial relationships. A manufacturer release supports an attributed report of its announcement; independent testing requires a documented independent test. Where a technical reviewer has not been identified, we do not imply external expert review.
When reporting an industry event, identify the event date, the original issuer and the date we inspected the source. Material changes should describe the correction in the article’s revision note. Suggestions and correction requests use the contact email; we do not promise a response deadline that has not been established.
Choosing the next article or revision
Reader questions, the existing library’s gaps, available primary sources and complete search-performance records inform the selection. We first check whether an existing page answers the same question. A useful revision can take precedence over a new article with a similar purpose.
Research and original-source reading precede factual writing. Numbers are checked against their units, table rows and application conditions. Historical sources retain their dates; an old product announcement is not presented as a new event. Publication frequency does not justify an unsupported result or a repeated article without added information.
Send an unresolved technical question or propose a documented case or scoped technical review. Messages require separate agreement before personal names, application data or images are published.
