What was advertised

Sunnen’s September 4, 2026 pre-show announcement names the PGA-1000 benchtop air gage, with single-master and dual-master configurations. It also advertises statistical process control and data-export features. These are manufacturer descriptions; this site has not tested the product.

The IMTS organizer lists September 14–19, 2026 in Chicago. Those dates have passed. This brief reviews the earlier preview; it is not an eyewitness account or confirmation that a particular demonstration occurred.

Questions for a bore measurement evaluation

Our editorial questions: which probe reaches the required depth, which characteristic is measured, how is the system calibrated, and what uncertainty applies under the proposed conditions? Ask for the actual evaluation procedure and exported report. A displayed reading or an SPC feature does not establish that every drawing characteristic has been examined.

No matching German technical announcement for this gage was verified; TIBO’s German booth notice is not product-performance evidence. The notice establishes the gage’s announcement; availability, pricing and achieved measurement performance are outside what it states.

Read the measurement planning guide and use the acceptance worksheet to define the application before comparing instruments.

A display does not define the probe application

The announcement’s touchscreen, display modes and data-export functions describe the instrument interface. The measurement application also needs an identified probe, master arrangement and inspected bore region. A stored number without those associations is difficult to compare with another inspection setup.

The source describes single-master and dual-master offerings. Preserve the actual model and configuration when requesting an application demonstration. Export capability does not, by itself, establish measurement traceability or show that a dataset is suitable for a capability calculation.

Our editorial interpretation is to follow one reading from the part and measurement location through the master check to the exported record. The reported characteristic and units should remain visible throughout that chain. This is a reporting question, not an independently verified uncertainty claim for the PGA-1000.

The diagram below separates observations, analysis and report. Use the bore-quality worksheet to define what the proposed probe must inspect. The next readings explain application uncertainty and SPC inputs. IMTS 2026 is retained as the announcement’s historical context; this coverage does not claim attendance or an observed demonstration.
